About Us

Two Hills Tea is an importer and wholesale company which was founded in 1998 in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada, and mainly carries organic tea (Camellia Sinensis).

When the company’s buyer, Haizhen, made her first business trip to a tea farm in China, the manager pointed to two large hills and said she can lease them to plant tea to her specifications. The idea was appealing, if unrealistic. One day, maybe… Thus, the two women who founded the company called it TWO HILLS TEA.

Two Hills Tea makes a concerted effort to select tea from and work with certified organic co-op tea farms in Sri Lanka and China. These tea farms are respected for their work to maintain a fair working environment and to sustain the organic growing of tea products.  Two Hills Tea’s buyer Haizhen goes to tea farms every year in the harvest season to select the finest teas and to ensure their quality and freshness. 

Our teas are certified by international third parties: BCS and Ecocert (in Germany); IMO (in Switzerland); and Our organic handling certification is from Pro-Cert. 

Two Hills Tea believes in fair trade. We purchase fair traded tea whenever we can or buy tea directly from tea farms and pay the farmers fair prices.
